Chocolate Diabetic Tips

Loads of chocolate hints and tips for diabetic recipes!!!

Sugar Substitutions for Recipes

All of the following can be used for Diabetic recipes. Equal Sweetener, Splenda, Sweet'N Low and Ace-K. However, Splenda Sugar Blend is probably the best for baking.

    Splenda Sweetener Tips

  1. When using Splenda Sugar Blend for baking purposes, remember this hint....1/2 cup of Splenda Sugar Blend is equal to 1 cup of Sugar.

  2. When you combine the Splenda Sugar Blend with melted Butter or Chocolate...a couple of teaspoons of Milk will keep the texture smooth.

  3. If you have problems with your Cookies spreading while using Splenda Sugar Blend, just take a fork and flatten the dough gently.

  4. The Splenda Brown Sugar Blend has the same tasty flavor as regular Brown Sugar.

  5. If you are craving Chocolate Chip Cookies use the Splenda Brown Sugar Blend. To replace 1 cup of regular Brown Sugar in the recipe...substitute with 1/2 cup of Splenda Brown Sugar Blend.

  6. Your baked goodies will stay fresh for 1 day if they are stored in an airtight container.

    Equal Sweetener Tips

  1. For best results when using recipes that call for Equal.....remember to add the Equal to your recipe after removing it from the heat.

  2. 1/2 packet of Equal is equivalent to 1 teaspoon of Sugar.

  3. 1 packet of Equal is equivalent to 2 teaspoons of Sugar.

  4. 1 1/2 packets of Equal is equivalent to 1 tablespoon of Sugar.

  5. 12 packets of Equal is equivalent to 1/2 cup of Sugar.
